OVERVIEW:

This session will identify and address the key factors in designing an emergency evacuation plan for your church. We will discuss different types of emergency evacuation scenarios and how to build in contingency plans if an exit or route is blocked. How to handle elderly, those with physical disabilities (wheel chairs/walkers). Since the safety team may be directly engaged with the emergency situation, we will discuss the need to have non-safety team member trained to assist in an evacuation. There will also be a discuss regarding the need for a “Shelter-in-place” plan

GOALS:

• How to analysis your building layout (doors, windows, hallways) to identify a safe evacuation Route

• How to plan a evacuation plan for each section of your church

• How to train other to assist in evacuation

PRESENTER:

Andy Parker is the interim Fire Chief for the City of Longview, Texas. Andy has extensive experience in the fire protection services and has been an excellent presenter at multiple Coalition events.
